On 18th September 2010 the Centre has great pleasure in being the first venue for the performance of Appletwig Songbook Presents "The Miners Welfare" Richard Scott a local lad & his colleagues forming a 5 piece electric roots band, have put together this musical tribute to the Mining Communities of the Northumberland & Durham Coalfields. Mining Songs that have been arranged to the style of music by the band, I'm sure having heard a sample of the music to be performed there is something included in the performance to suit all.
