Planning a Special Event - Why not book one of our rooms for a function?
Adamson Suite - named after Mark Adamson who was a Trustee & member of the centre Management Committee for 55 years until he retired. This room is used for many of the activities that take place, but is also used to host bowling competitions, staff training days, company conferences and product displays as well as being used as the Polling Station during local elections. It is a warm, light, well-ventilated room.
Teasdale Suite - named after Eddie Teasdale who was a Trustee & member of the centre Management Committee for 52 years until he retired. This room is used as the main function room that has a Beech wood floor that is maintained to a high standard for the many dances that we host. The under floor heating keeps guests warm on cold days and the air conditioning keeps the room cooler when the air gets humid. This room also doubles up for seminars, conferences and training days when the need arises.
Jamieson Suite - named after Gorge Jamieson who in his life was NUM Union secretary and was the man responsible for obtaining the money to build the new part onto the old building 1963. This room is used for meetings and small seminars, because of it being situated between the two larger rooms and having doors fitted that open into either of those rooms it can be used for any function that may require that bit extra space. It is very often used to present the buffet in for whatever function the centre is hosting.
Sinclair Suite - dedicated to Graham Sinclair who kindly gave us some of his precious spare time to ask his advice on what we needed to do next with our project. This area is the training block of the centre with 3 rooms, room 1 to hold small meetings or training days fitted with a white board and OHP. Room 2 is the computer suite -12 complete systems linked to a network printer, scanners & Internet access. Room 3 is the second phase of the computer suite with 3 extra high spec systems with added specialised equipment for those who have any physical disability, sight impairment and voice recognition.
