"The centre was established in 1923. However, we only recently moved into our new complex. (September 2000). We are a community-based organization registered with the Charity Commission and run by a Management Committee of Trustees who are all Volunteers. In addition to working along with the Coal Industry Social Welfare Organisation (CISWO) who recently celebrated their 50th Aniversary.

We have a wide range of social activities that take place seven days a week, as well as courses to stimulate the minds of those who require educational activities. We operate on a Membership basis that is open to everyone, with the aim to improve Community Life. "
